Senior Design Engineer - Bespoke Machinery - c£50K - Leeds - 1pm Fridays

Leeds, West Yorkshire (commutable from Bradford, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, 
Circa £50,000pa (negotiable depending on experience)
1pm Friday finish 

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background in special-purpose or bespoke machinery? Do you enjoy leading projects, mentoring other engineers, and solving complex design challenges?

We’re working with a growing machinery manufacturer who are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their expanding team. With a strong order book and a reputation for quality, this is an excellent opportunity to take on responsibility, add value, and develop your career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading projects from concept through to completion
• Assigning tasks and reviewing the work of fellow design engineers
• Producing innovative designs using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)
• Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver bespoke machinery solutions
• Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering problem-solving

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in Mechanical Design Engineering, ideally in bespoke/special-purpose machinery
• Confident in leading projects and reviewing the work of others
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptable and proactive approach, thriving in a dynamic environment
