£35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

About the Role:

We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of special purpose machinery and automation systems.

With record sales and a strong order book, the business is going through an exciting period of growth. You’ll be part of a close-knit design team working on bespoke projects from concept through to commissioning, with exposure to the full project lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and developing bespoke machinery solutions.
• Producing detailed 2D & 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
• Supporting manufacturing and assembly teams with technical input.
• Conducting calculations, analysis, and FEA to validate designs.
• Ensuring designs meet industry standards (including GD&T).
• Involvement in R&D and new product development projects.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in machinery, automation, or special purpose equipment.
• Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD + 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Siemens NX).
• Knowledge of mechanical calculations, FEA, and GD&T.
• A problem solver with strong communication and teamwork skills.
