About the Role:
We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of special purpose machinery and automation systems.
With record sales and a strong order book, the business is going through an exciting period of growth. You’ll be part of a close-knit design team working on bespoke projects from concept through to commissioning, with exposure to the full project lifecycle.
This role offers variety, career development, and the chance to put your stamp on innovative engineering solutions for customers across various sectors.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing and developing bespoke machinery solutions.
- Producing detailed 2D & 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
- Supporting manufacturing and assembly teams with technical input.
- Conducting calculations, analysis, and FEA to validate designs.
- Ensuring designs meet industry standards (including GD&T).
- Involvement in R&D and new product development projects.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in machinery, automation, or special purpose equipment.
- Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD + 3D CAD such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Siemens NX).
- Knowledge of mechanical calculations, FEA, and GD&T.
- A problem solver with strong communication and teamwork skills.
