Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Office-Based)
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent – 4.5-Day Week with Early Finish Fridays!
Salary: £35,000 – £43,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for designing complex, special-purpose machinery? This pioneering manufacturer is expanding and looking for a skilled designer to take ownership of exciting projects in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop bespoke mechanical systems and special-purpose machinery
• Produce detailed 2D & 3D CAD models and accurate technical drawings for fabrication
• Prepare clear Bills of Materials (BoMs) to support manufacturing
• Apply GD&T principles for precision tolerancing and dimensional accuracy
• Perform engineering calculations and FEA to validate and improve designs
• Support manufacturing and assembly teams from concept to final build
• Contribute to product development and R&D activities

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in mechanical design for special-purpose machinery or related engineering fields
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Catia etc)
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Good knowledge of fabrication techniques and mechanical component selection
• Confident communicator and team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
