Mechanical Design Engineer - Capital Equipment

Location: Blackburn – Office Based

Pay: £35K - £45K pa (DOE) + Benefits

A growing manufacturer of production and process machinery is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work on bespoke machinery designs for a worldwide customer base and across various applications.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing engineering drawings of machinery, components and ancillary equipment
• Create 3D designs and models, and perform FEA simulations
• Design for manufacturing, produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings
• Conduct design calculations, FEA simulations, material selection, and cost analysis
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and technical documentation
• Support R&D projects to enhance product performance and energy efficiency
• Work closely with electrical engineers, production teams, and project managers

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, or process machinery design
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
