Project Manager (Engineering Projects)

We’re supporting a well-established machinery manufacturer that designs and builds high-value engineering systems supplied to global customers across the food, FMCG, and process industries.

They’re looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of projects from initial concept through to customer handover, ensuring everything runs smoothly in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.

The Role

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the successful execution of a portfolio of engineering projects - working closely with Design, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Aftermarket teams to deliver high-quality equipment on time and within budget.

You’ll oversee the full lifecycle from interpreting customer requirements and coordinating design work, through to production, testing, installation, and final acceptance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing multiple projects simultaneously from order through to commissioning and sign-off
• Developing and maintaining project timelines, budgets, and progress reports
• Coordinating between internal engineering, manufacturing, and service departments
• Acting as the main customer point of contact for all technical and commercial matters
• Reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Driving continuous improvement across project delivery processes
• Monitoring performance against agreed KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, cost control)
• Supporting sales and aftermarket teams with project-related input and technical advice

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to combine a strong engineering background with proven experience managing technical projects within a manufacturing or capital equipment environment.

We’re looking for:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
• Solid background in engineering project management, ideally special-purpose machinery, automation, or process equipment
• Good understanding of design principles, manufacturing methods, and regulatory standards
• Confident leading cross-functional teams and liaising directly with customers
• Willingness to travel occasionally in the UK and overseas
